Adam and Sarah met in June 2021 while Sarah was still living in Key West, a 2 hour drive from Tavernier. Their first date happened in July - right when Hurricane Elsa (then a tropical storm) blew through the keys - making for a fun drive for Sarah, who ended up stuck in traffic on a bridge for nearly 45 minutes. Adam took Sarah to pick up sushi for dinner and packed a fishing rod - so they could fish behind the restaurant while they waited for their meal. That should have been her first hint about what she was getting into! Nearly every date after that first date centered around fishing, with Adam patiently teaching Sarah how to fish while they got to know each other.

Five months after first meeting, Sarah moved to the upper keys and in with Adam, and six months after that they found a crazy looking, scruffy pup online to rescue, completing their family.

They traveled to Maine in September of 2023, heading to the family farm in South Bristol for a few days of fishing, sailing, relaxing and eating lobster with his cousin and niece. Taking the sailboat out one afternoon, cruising under stormy skies, Adam got down on one knee while at the helm, and asked Sarah if she wanted to be together forever.
